The Recent Graduates Program (RGP) offers developmental experiences in the Federal Government to individuals who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs. The intent is to promote possible careers in civil service. To be eligible, applicants must apply within two years of degree or certificate completion except for veterans precluded from doing so due to their military service obligation. This is a Pathways Recent Graduate Program position. The incumbent will serve in a developmental capacity as a Public Health Information Technology Analyst. Duties and responsibilities are identical to the target position, except the major differences involving the incumbent's level of scope and responsibilities, supervision and the amount of independence in day-to-day assignments.

As a Public Health Analyst you will: Serve as an analyst evaluating the effectiveness of public health information technology program operations. Analyze established public health and technology policy and recommend related areas for improvement. Provide insight to the DSO director on the public health program importance of policy change.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-7 grade level of in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph. Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience assisting in analyzing and evaluating public health information technology program operations. OR Have a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., in a subject area related to the position being filled. OR Have a combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described above that meet 100% of the qualification requirements. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

PROGRAM COMPLETION AND CONVERSION ELIGIBILITY: A Pathways Program Participant must be a United States Citizen to be eligible for non-competitive conversion to the competitive service For positions that require certain levels of security clearance, United States citizenship is required. Program participants may be converted, without a break in service, to a term, career or career conditional appointment upon completion of program requirements. Complete 40 hours of formal interactive training. Meet the qualification standards for the position to which the Recent Graduate will be converted. Meet any agency-specific requirements specified in the Participant's Agreement. Successfully completed at least 1-year of continuous service in addition to all requirements of the Program. Demonstrate successful job performance that results in a rating of record of at least Fully Successful and a recommendation for conversion by the first level supervisor.
